A multimedia campaign for the RAPE, ABUSE & INCEST NATIONAL NETWORK

As director of business development for Mother Image, I assembled the team that won the 2014 Getty Images Creative Grant on behalf of RAINN. The goal was to generate awareness for RAINN’s Helplines and encourage survivors of sexual violence to speak up.
Creative director Florence Buchanan of Project Buchanan, video director Poppy de Villeneuve and photographer Rana Faure and I created and produced the multimedia ad campaign. With collaboration from the RAINN team, members of RAINN’s Speaker’s Bureau volunteered to participate, driven by a powerful desire to help others.
A portion of the production costs were covered by the grant. Thanks to the generosity of editor Peter Mostert and his team at Hooligan Editorial, as well as creative people at Nice Shoes, Sonic Union, Advertising Arts, and help from copywriter Stuart Tom, the campaign launched during Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April 2016.
The videos, print and portraits ran online, in social media and on donated media. The campaign led to a 41% increase in people contacting RAINN and a record increase in YouTube views.
